Joseph Tinnith

I lost my Uncle Joe this past week. Such a delightful man, and so close to his sister (my mom). He will be missed.

Being the scrapper, I also do ancestry, and my uncle's unusual middle name was the key to being the link to his grand-father. I had no link of ancestry beyond my grandmother, as my grandparents had passed away before I was born. I was contacted by someone through ancestry and told that a Joseph Tinnith was in her tree, and we figured out it was my uncle's grand-father, who had divorced, and lost contact with the family. It seems the name Tinnith was my uncle Joe's grand-mother's first name. She had dies soon after giving birth, and they used her name as her son's middle name. A generation later, my grand-mother named her son Joseph Tinnith, thus giving us the link we needed. Without the name, the family tree would have ended with my grandmother, as we had no names beyond my grandmother's name.

Process notes: I began with a background paper from APP Portire. I added the photo, by using the inverted masking technique. I then began adding a variety of transfers, and brushes around the photo. I added the Free Form Frame, and layered portions of the Fabulous WordART Mix below and to the right of the framed image. I used portions of the FotoGlow, modifying the colors of some of the glows. One glow was placed over top of the photo to give it a sense of light. I added a very deep but faint shadow to the wood word, and a custom shadow to the word strip. I added the journaling and my uncles name.
