Process:
Template layouts usually go fast for me and this one was no exception. I added the photos to the Fotoblendz and the frames, then positioned the black/white photo in the upper right corner, figuring I'd worry about how to blend it into the background later. I added a couple of artsy papers, set the photo to overlay blending mode, and, surprisingly and delightfully, the photo self-blended with just a little help from me to mask away the sharp edges.
I did the journaling and the quote next, just to block out the space, then added transfers, overlays, and the Artsy Transfers under and over the photos on various blending modesthere's a particularly nice orange stain in the Tinge set that I used all over the place, which helped add unity to this very full design.
In refining my layout, I played around with Fotoglows on different blending modes to enhance the light, added the embellishment for dimension (recoloring the ribbon from green to blue), and the page overlay for definition. I wanted a sort of Into The Woods look, and to achieve that, I applied a gradient fill layer in a peachy pink to my layout and reduced its opacity until it looked right.
