process...
I extracted the image of my grandmother (she was standing in front of a hedge) and placed her on a new layer. My first background was a garden scene but that wasn't working...she doesn't look very happy...so I moved to something darker. The background is a solid from APP Potiere that's been darkened. Originally, I only worked with the main image so I could position the buildings which are a combination of image and brushes from the new ArchiTexture brushes. After I got the background scene in place, I added two more images of my grandmother. I wanted those images to be more a part of the background, so I eliminated the color (which was coming from the background) from the image on the left and cutout the image on the right. After I cut out the image on the right, I changed the background in that small area to black and white. Transfers from the new APP and the new fotoglows were added to bump up the colors in some areas and darken them in others. I did a little bit of masking on the main image to give it some dimension. The brushes were added in white. I added the title and journaling and it was done (a couple of days later).

Thanks for looking :)
one of the best parts is hearing it takes you a couple of days to do this wonderful work ;-) fascinating process and results, so inspiring!

Wonderful and inspiring! I just realized, and had never thought about it before, but being unhappy is a very important way of being lost.

So much to look at and study! Amazing art! We all get lost once in a while!

she does look lost and your design creates such an aura of mysteryis she lost, lonely or both? such depth and dimension in the layers only adds to the intruigue. another contemplative design that stirs the imagination.
