Did my first extraction with the pen and tablet as per Anna's PenPLAY class.I extracted the sombrero. The lesson was very informative. Relatively easy if you do it all the time, which I don't.

Photos: Courtyard photo taken with my iPhone, sombrero photo taken from the internet and the margarita photo taken from the restaurants FB page.
Process Notes: After opening the Spring Album page 6, I used solid paper 5 from the ArtPlay Palette Adventure for the foundation to build my layout on. I turned the large photo into black and white, fiddling with levels and curves for contrast, then posterizing it to bring out the stucco on the wall.
I clipped the color version of the photo to the small bottom mask, and the margarita photo to the small top mask, after adjusting the color. FB photos are not the best to use, but its all I had. I left all the photos on Normal blend mode.
After extracting the sombrero from its background as per Annas PenPLAY class, I put it on the corner of the margarita photo, placing the threads that are included in the album page and the croqueted flower from APP Euphoria on it and resizing them.
At this point I created my title and journaling. Its my custom to do this about half way through creating my layout because I always see them as part of the design of the whole page. I know I will be adding elements around it, so I feel I need it in place. I colored the title then clipped a layer and brushed on the color from the margarita drink and used Multiply blend mode.
Using all but one layer of the MultiMedia Sun, I recolored the stain, using a color from the courtyard photo and set it to Color Burn mode.
Getting a glow I placed it under the MM Sun and over the two small photos, setting it to Color Burn mode.
I added a tape under the MM Sun and a Chatter overlay and brush in the upper left corner and a dripped stain below the small bottom photo and journaling, putting the brush on Color Burn blend mode. That finishes this layout.
