Journaling:
Thats what they say, but nobody warned me about the snip part! The night before Rileys first day back to school, I had everything all packed up and ready to go for the morning. After the kids were tucked soundly in their beds, I went out to clean up their bikes and toys from the front yard and when I returned to the house I flipped on the light to find Riley's bag of school supplies strewn across the foyer and I could hear
little footsteps running up the stairs. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the wrapper for the scissors was torn to bits on the floor and the scissors were nowhere to be found! Then as I was looking for the missing scissors (and whatever they may have been used to cut), I walked into the family room where our huge window was smeared in blue glue stick and I'm not talking about a little touch of glue, I'm talking about 1/4 thick streaks of glue on the glass and in the screens and to top it off: out of the package of 6 glue sticks, only two were unused!!!! Have you ever tried to clean glue stick out of a screen?!?!?! So I go and find Tyler and he gets an earful. He helped to clean everything up and we talked about what he did and then I sent him back up to bed. Well, in the midst of all this Jason had come home from work and I asked him to go up and wash Ty's hands since I'm sure they were smothered in glue stick as well. He was up there for about 3 minutes when I heard "Jaime, you need to come here right now!".....ummm, okay. He asked me to look at Tyler and to tell him what I saw and I noticed that his hair was blue from glue stick and Jason said "and what else?" so I looked a little closer and noticed he was missing a chunk of hair right in the middle of his forehead! Well at least I then knew what he cut with the scissors!!!! So that's 3 for 3 with my kids chopping their own hair off. So then poor Riley's school bag included the salvaged glue sticks and the confiscated scissors along with a note explaining what happened and why Riley didnt have all of her supplies on the first day.
