A Different View

I took this photo on the same spot I always take this photo, on a very rainy afternoon this week and put it on Instagram using one of their filters. I liked how it came out so much I wanted to play with it and see what happens blending with papers. It was just an experiment not thinking I would actually create a real layout I would post. It was play time, not serious time. Well, it grew up to be a real page. I should identify that those are the Cascade Mountains in the background and across the Wenatchee River is BlackBird Island.

Process Notes: I placed FotoBlendz No. 4 on top of Neige paper 2 and clipped my photo to it, duplicating it once with Overlay blend mode. On top of that I placed Neige paper solid 1 with Overlay blend mode, then artsy paper 2 from the palette also on Overlay blend mode, finally putting solid paper 5 on Multiply, really bringing out the stains in the paper. All of this knocked out the grey sky, which is what I wanted.

Using all the layers from the Neige ArtsyTransfer 2 except for one, I resized, moved and turned each layer and placed them in the sky and right edge blending them to Hard Mix except the lilac stain, which I left on Normal.

After placing the Winter WordMix on the left and right sides blending them with Linear Burn and Multiply, I put the tape from Paper Textures and recoloring it and blending it to Darken.

Over all of that, I arranged the SnowyBlendz on the page even though it was really raining that day.

I added the Scratched Overlay and resized it to frame the photo more closely, added the UrbanStitchez, flower, button and the ButtonThreadz.

With the See WordART title I recolored it by adding a couple of layers on top of it and brushing a color from the palette and a color from the photo. I added a splat in the lower left corner from a freebie I got a long time ago that I dont think is available anymore and gave it a slight bevel and emboss to resemble paint drippings. TaDa, a finished layout from an experiment.
Lovely page, a wonderful idea to take a photo in the same place at different seasons!

I can only hope that someday I'll know how to use some of these techniques you've shared. This is absolutely beautiful!!
