Process:
Working with an eye towards an Art Journal style, I collaged most of an entire 2-page spread. I liked it but it was way too busy for the style of my book, so I masked out and deleted all but the frame and the stuff on the left. Then I added the paper heart, which was supposed to look like it was stitched to the page on one side and loose on the other.

I love your style :) You've got a nice balance. The 'inner' page on the right is wonderful collage, but by framing it, you've retained your white-space style. Such pretty colors :)

Really like the collage style here with the mix of dark/light, large/small, and round/linear. By shrinking the images on the spread, I think they actually feel more pronounced than if you left them upsized across the pages. Really nice take on the challenge--those colors can paralyze me!
