Empty Home

Not sure where this photo is or even who gave it to me. It looks it's an abandoned home in rural Texas or maybe Arizona. But it made me wonder about who lived there. I like to think they lived a simple life filled with happy memories; to me it is not a ruined structure, but just an empty home. The home still retains a touch of rustic elegance even in its decayand I do find beauty in that.

Used papers, transfers and brushes from ArtPlay Palette Glacial. (Used transfers to make it even more ruined.)

Thanks for looking.
Beautiful! Love how the doorway is open to view through! I bet the house has a story to tell. Love the work with the transfers!

The extra ruination with the transfers is quite a wonderful touch. Beautifully thoughtful page!

Love the light on the wall coming through the rafters. Wikipedia has an article about the shotgun house, and suggests it's more likely in Texas than Arizona. You did a wonderful job on the blending and texturing!

this is wonderful use of Glacial! the wood in the paper/transfers is transformed into decay with your placement and in this context. There is a whole subculture dedicated to finding and photographing this like this...urbex :) Great page

Your textures and transfer use has added additional beauty to the abandoned home. Love the vantage of peering through the open door and to the journey that lies beyond.

Awe, a girl after my own heart.. I am always on the prowl for images like this and sometimes it is quite the trek to obtain them. This is perfectly scrapped and I hope you continue to pursue the adventure of photographing abandoned structures.. they have so much story, beauty and a patina that is not found elsewhere. Love your use of textures and quote!

Lovely page, great use of transfers. Love the open door inviting you to look around!
