I created a pencil sketch from a photo, scanned the sketch, then ran it through a filter to come up with the image I masked. Some of the brushes I made others are from different APPs. I don't keep a log when I do a portrait like this. I left out the color step and I used some of Anna's taped textures.
Great to see this and thanks for the link to the technique...I was trying to achieve something similar in my recent Bowie page and I see that I could have gotten there a lot faster, and a lot more effectively, with your guidance.
