My reflections on the recent death of David Bowie, using a promo photo from my daughter's band.

Process:
I started with the photo. To texture it, I created an inverted mask and then stamped brushes on the mask to reveal parts of the underlying image.

To echo the stripes in my daughter's mask, I created a striped titleI typed the word, simplified it (layer simplify layer), then stamped stripes at 50% opacity on top. The journaling was next.

I altered the frame by clipping multiple duplicates of the word transfer to the frame, positioning the word life at the top to support my journaling.

I finished my page by adding texture with stains, brushes, paint, and artstrokes, as well as distressing with free-use cardboard and paper images found on the internet.
