My niece is starting high school this year. I can't believe she is so grown up! It seems as though it was only yesterday when she was a little flowergirl at my wedding! She has turned into a fun, interesting girl who is very creative.
Journaling:
This was in August, 2007. Mickey and I were at your home, celebrating my birthday and your Grandpas. (My dad and I share close birthdays, mine is August 13 and his is August 15.) You wandered outside and
just sat in a chair, relaxing. I came out and talked with you a bit. I can tell youre growing into your own sense of self. But you already have a pretty good idea of who you are and what you deserve in life. I love how you told some young girls who were trying to make fun of your curly hair that it went along with
your curly personality. You were spunky and un-intimidated by their opinion. This will serve you well in life later, for there will always be critics. Meanwhile, Im seeing you grow up into a very creative and loving young woman and am very proud of you, my little tumbleweed!
