I remember bringing Megan here years ago, and there was a woman crocheting large monarch butterflies for the children. Im sure we still have that crocheted monarch somewhere. It was hard to capture the monarchs with just an iPhone, except for the one perched on the flower in the little show garden. At first you may not notice them, but then you see thousands of orange
flutterings. From the trees huge
clusters of monarchs hung. There were telescopes trained on these
clusters, and to look through them was to see something so marvelous it seemed unreal. The sun catching the dark top and light undersides of
hundreds of butterflies was a rare glimpse into nature.
