I've always been fascinated by these red-topped mushrooms more commonly known as Fly Agaric. As a child, I was sure fairies lived underneath them in quaintly quirky houses. When I was in college, I learned that their supposedly "magical and mystical" psychedelic effects were the inspiration for "Alice in Wonderland." And they're featured in the dancing mushroom sequence in the 1940 Disney film, Fantasia. But recently I learned that Fly Agarics appear on Christmas and New Year's cards from around the world as a symbol of good luck. Yet I still like to believe that they are shelter for the fairies of the world; so the ones in this layout must be home to an entire clan. (I know, I've always had an active imagination.) Hahaha.
