Process:
This layout came about as the result of a tutorial marathon, including Suzie's excellent video on using multiple masks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Pobb-CBxlA and Linda's wonderful clip-to-stains video http://annaaspnesdesigns.com/video-using-artsy-stains-as-clipping-masks/. I used a total of four masks/stains/brushes, clipping duplicates of my photo to each and then moving them into positions I liked. The various masks altered the areas of lighting and emphasis, so I just sat back and enjoyed the ride, adding only a couple of transfers/overlays and the light leaks at the end. For the background, I used a solid paper from the minipalette Vibrant and then, over it, on multiply, an artsy paper, which I resized smaller and masked so only the pattern remained. I added the word art (masking out the words I didn't need) and the journaling last.
