Our visit to Butler Wash Ruin was perfectly timed. We watched the sun come up over the mountain and bathe the cliff dwellings in warm light. Later on Mule Road, we drove for miles in deep mud before deciding to put a hike to House on Fire in Mule Canyon back on our list.
