Symmetry

Process Notes:

This layout is about flipping pretty much everything to create symmetrical repetition. I started with an artsy transfer, putting it at the top, then duplicating and flipping the layers horizontally. I duplicated and flipped my photo and dragged that into place over some black paint, clipping copies of the photo to various layers of the artsy transfer for depth. I separated the two sections with brush strokes (also flipped) from Wild Autumn. Then I made the background paper from a piece of another artsy transfer, flipping it horizontally to make two halves. I then pulled in the clock over the photos, super-sized it, clicked it to the color-burn blending mode, and moved on to journaling and embellishing with stitchez, artstrokes, flowers, and the little clocks to symbolize the passing of time.
so true about the "just like that"
i like that the two sides are not perfectly symmetrical. i kind of think that for some things you have to find a balance before you can go back and find the symmetry. excellent art journaling.
