This was intended for Sabine's blind lift challenge but the artsy took over.
This little whistler is a male - quite a handsome little bird. His lady friends are all very plain Janes though. They're wonderful songsters, probably Australia's best with very strong musical voices.

Not to go too deeply into bird factoids, but I was just reading something in my Audubon mag about how the plain Janes aren't really plain at all in the eyes of the male avian beholders. Their vision allows light spectrums which apparently allow them to see colors and iridescences that we humans can't fathom. As an avid bird watcher (and always feeling kind of sorry for the Plain Janes), I was intrigued by this. Could have knocked me over with a feather! Anyway, I love what you created here. A beautiful composition.
