Family Photos

Anyone who has tried taking family photos, even casual ones, knows just how difficult it is, so I'm just focusing on the good ones for pages in a book:)

Process: The colors in these photos would have been difficult to work with, so I converted them to black and white with just a little selective recoloring. I began with the large photo on the right, masking and blending it as explained in Annas course, AnnaBlendz Live, link. I placed transfers and transfer layers below and above the photo. I dragged the frames from ALT 187 as well as a splatter and text box. I basically used the design for placement. I clipped my photos to the masks. Then I extracted the flowers, added the urban flowers and threadz and a splatter from AP Sunflower. I finished with my journaling. On the left side of this two page spread, I placed some of the other photos that I shot that afternoon.

Thanks for looking:)
Wonderful photos and I love the sepia and how the yellow flowers tie the two pages together.

Your b/w photos have a great depth and softness to them! The flowers are a wonderful accent.

It is REALLY hard to get good family photos! Since most of what my projects are about is family, I am always...shall we say "challenged"...by my materials! Your b/w conversions really do the job here, without losing any of the feeling/emotions. The bright yellow going across the spread gives all the cheer and love that anybody could want.

Love the recoloring of your photos! They are so soft and love the brown you selected. Love the unity of the 2 page spread! The sunflowers add the pop of color - so lovely!!

Gorgeous! love the selective coloring and the extracting of the flowers! Your prairie must be so beautiful at this time! you did an awesome job taking the family photos!

Wonderful effect! Love the addition of the beautiful prairie flowers!

Such wonderful photos Linda - very special. Love that you chose to do them in b&w, with only the flowers in color. Very striking!

Really love this. The photos are so nice and the brown color tone complements them perfectly.
