In Memoriam honors the lives lost in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. I was supposed to leave early that afternoon for New York on a business trip. I actually wanted to leave a few days earlier, but my boss denied my request. I was working on a big project and he knew if I left early not much would get done. So I was in the office on that morning watching in horror as the planes hit the towers instead. My boss' decision saved me from that horrific experience. My heart still goes out to ALL who were taken from their loved ones on that tragic day.

Used a poppy because it has long been a memorial symbol to the fallen and it also represents eternal sleep.

A total of 411 emergency workers died as they tried to rescue people and fight fires. The New York City Fire Department lost 343 firefighters. The NYPD lost 23 officers. The Port Authority Police Department lost 37 officers. Eight EMTs and paramedics from private emergency medical services units were killed.
