I am subjected to loads of car shows each year, but hubby and I have found a common ground. I love photographing old rusted out cars and whenever we come across a field of them he is more than willing to stop and help me take pictures. Of course I have to listen to a dialogue about the mechanics of how everything works!
The Process
A solid paper from APP Heart Beach was selected for the background of the page. The photo was clipped to a watercolor fotoblendz mask. Branches from MM Branches 1 and 3 were added to continue the tree growth out of the engine compartment of the car. Transfers, textures, splatters, overlays, stitchez and script tease were added. Various brushes from APP Tangier were used to paint over the title and to erase portions of the title.
Thank you for looking.
I love the whole concept Miki! I'm quite partial to a bit of rust, it must be those deep orange tones against brown and throw in a bit of verdigris and I'm totally sold lol! Great page and I love how you have created the tree growing out the car bonnet!
Are you part Texan? Texans love their rust...and they pay a premium for it. I, too, love old rusty cars and other things. I love the roots and rust art, very clever, very artsy. Will your hubby hang this in his man cave or garage?
