Where I'm From...

The journaling on this page comes from a blog entry I wrote based on this: http://www.swva.net/fred1st/wif.htm
Journaling Reads:
I am from lavender scented air freshener, from Crayola Crayons and crocheted hats.
I am from brick and stucco and green grass, from the woods out back and from the play yard and the turnaround.
I am from the bleeding heart, the apple trees, and the black eyed Susans.
I am from cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning and from stubbornness and sarcasm, from GrandmaRee and Nana and Aunt HeHe.
I am from intelligence and creativity and the Bushkill Creek.
From eat your sandwich crusts so you'll grow hair on your chest and from if your uncle wore a dress he'd be your aunt.
I am from Lutherans and Quakers.
I am from Pennsylvania and I am from Germany and England. From sauerkraut and shoo-fly pie.
From my father's pet rooster Gaudy, from my Italian uncle and his collectible glassware and giving heart, from my Great-Aunt and her kitchen sponge. I'm from jokes about frogs, visits to New Jersey, and deli platters.
I'm from Anne of Green Gables, Little House on the Prairie and Louisa May Alcott. From the public library and the ice-cold water fountain, from basket-weaving class in the basement and the young adults section.
I am from the way-back of a Volvo, the barking of dachshunds, the sound of the violin.
From hot dogs with macaroni and cheese, apples with milk, and ice cream with peanuts.
I am from boarding school and trips abroad, from England and Europe and South Africa.
I am from dollhouses and Barbies and rollerskating in the basement. From Legos and bikes and climbing trees.
I am from a long family tree, photos of ancestors, journals of my great-grandmother. I am from everyone who came before, and everyone who has yet to be. From my past, and my present and my future. From my mother and my father and my brothers. I'm from here and I'm from there.
I am from me.

Oh my goodness! This is a fantastic layout! I absolutely love this. What great journaling. The composition just draws me in! Thanks for sharing. I'm going to put this in the Standing O's!

This is beaut-e-ous. I'm putting it in my favorites for my heritage album stuff!

Thanks all! This is actually the second page I did with this journaling- the first page I just couldn't get quite right and now it's sitting in my hard drive collecting dust.. I think this page really captures the journaling better and all the little "bits and bobs" have meaning behind them....
