OMG! I'm on cloud nine, all these compliments .... thank you very much, I'm very moved. After months without scrap, and see these it's just awesome.
To answer your questions, I use a mask to get my picture in black and white. After this is just the feeling, I play with the lights, the colors, opacity, ... I have no particular technique.
