The Meanest Teacher

I never thought the memories I associate with these two photos would ever see the light of day. But time changes perspectives. When Owen, my oldest grandson, read the story over the weekend, he asked pointedly in disbelief, Grandma, you've got to remember what you did to get in trouble. This from the boy who routinely finds himself asked that same question.

Scan of Miss Swamp from the book, Miss Nelson Is Missing

Fonts: Primary Lined Regular, Adobe Garamond Pro

Process:
I began by dragging the layers of ALT 205 to a new blank document. I turned off all but the frames and masks. Then I placed Artsy Camera FotoBlendz1_2 on a layer mask attached to the large photo. I clipped the small photo to one of the frames. I added a color fill layer to each photo and changed the blend mode to soft light at 75%. On the right, I placed a transfer and overlay from the AP below MultiMedia School1_3 as well as the clip and button above the photo. I stamped NoteBook2_4 on a new layer above the large photo. I attached a layer mask to solid paper_3 and erased part revealing solid paper_1 below in order to create a notebook page for my journaling. I added my journaling, adjusting both the angle of solid paper_1 and the kerning of the type to take advantage of the lines on the paper. I placed a scan of Miss Swamp on the left side of the notebook and attached a layer mask to blend her into the notebook. I added the same color fill layer that I used on the two photos. I moved some of the templates texture layers above the large photo, adjusting the opacity. I turned back on some of the paint and stain layers below the photo, adjusting the opacity and recoloring as needed. On the left, below the large photo, I placed the layers of ATStudious_4 as well as the splatters and another artstroke from ATStudious_2. I adjusted the placement, resized the text and recolored one layer. On the right, I added a stain from ATStudious_5.

P.S. Ulla-May, thanks for the idea to use a color fill layer on the photos:)
Love the page! The story and the photos, the wire-o and Miss Swamp.

Love your story! My worse teacher was in 4th grade. I got F's in most subjects. She was everything I didn't want to be in a teacher. I'm glad you documented this beautiful page! Love Miss Swamp!

Enjoyed your journalling LOL My 2nd grade teacher was the worst. She didn't like me and I didn't like her right back!!

Great page! Reminds me I should dig out my old school pics.

love this story - I am not surprised you became a teacher so others would not have to have a mean teacher! love the witch! love the two photos! gorgeous page!

Love your story and layout. I, too, had the meanest 1st grade teacher who terrorized the entire class. (of course, I was a good girl, ha!) And I'm sure you were an absolutely wonderful teacher!
