Process: I dragged all the layers of template 29B to a new blank document and reduced the size to about 85%. Then I began clipping my photos to the masks. I flipped the mask in the lower left corner to accommodate my photo and repositioned the staples on the right. I added dates to each photo and placed a few elements from the AP Explore and AP Jardinier as well as part of the Multimedia Flower that is on the left side of this two page spread. I recolored the template edges, mostly a blue, but used a green on the bottom. Then I started adding the Journaling. I clipped transfer_3 and transfer_4 to the mask below the small journaling block. I like the look of journaling on photos. It allows me to put the words with the photos. Sometimes there are perfect spaces that lend themselves to adding journaling, like the street in the photo on the top right. In the process of working on this book, Ive also discovered that if there arent clear spaces, then I draw a rectangle on a new blank layer below the journaling with the marquee tool, fill it with white and then apply a strong gaussian blur, my journaling is much more readable and the background context of my photos is still visible. Sometimes, I need to adjust the opacity as I did on the top center photo. I used this technique on the center top photo, the lower left and the journaling box.
