Back story for the photo - Each year a trainer comes out to the stable that my dd use to ride at. He works with any horse that has issues, in hopes that the owner learns how to best work with it. One of the first thing that has to happen is for the horse to realize that the owner (or trainer) is the one in charge (leader of the herd). This is what Terek is trying to figure out right now and his rearing up is showing reluctance. Unfortunately, many horse owners have issues with their horses, most often due to not having a good connection with their horse, and not having their respect, and often times the owner (or rider) is not the number one.
Journaling reads: I met Tereks owner late one evening. I introduced myself, and asked him about his horse. He told me that he and Terek would go out on trail late at night, and that he would saddle him from his trunk. He told me that Terek had been a circus horse at one time, and he showed me how Terek could count out with his hoof. The next week I was saddened to learn that the owner had died unexpectedly, and that the owners wife did not ride, therefore didnt quite know that to do with his horse. Although it took months to finalize the sale, Barb, at the stable bought him, and soon after moved him, and her other horse to a ranch she had just purchased. Before moving him, Barb had Lou Scarlett (a trainer from Arizona) work with him a bit. It so pleases me that Tereks story had such a happy ending.

My Process: I love this kit with the wonderful cloud transfers and the bits of watercolor greens and yellows. I immediately thought of scrapping a horse, and found this photo of sweet Terek. I blended the photo unto the upper portion of the white cardstock, with the wrinkled area. I layered another artsy paper from the kit, moving it to the upper left, and blending masked out the edges so that the wrinkles could still be seen. I then added the frame, and masked out the portions around Terek. I then began experimenting with the various transfers and brushes from the kit, adding them mainly along the top. I added the title, and the journaling below the title. I then decided to add the various elements along the left edge of the frame, and once done with the elements, decided to a one final transfer in the lower left with splatters and artstrokes, as well as the yellow button to create kind of an arched design to the white paper background. I finished up by blending the treasure definition beside the floral sprigs, and was done!
