Rock Stars

An old photo that my husbands aunt and uncle had taken when they visited Mt. Rushmore in the 40s. I was surprised to see that it was almost the same angle of a photo that I took in 2010. I wonder how many times these Rock Stars have been photographed over time? Bet they love the paparazzi!

The Process
I selected a solid paper from AP Natural Instinct. I layered an artsy paper over it and using the gradient tool, faded out part of it so that there was some textured and color still showing. I added the 2010 photo and layered several warm glows over it with various blending modes to give the photo more depth. I clipped the 1940s b/w photo to a frame photo mask from AP Chills. I layered several transfers from AP Natural instinct across the page and added a transfer from AP Storm (blending mode changed to hard light). I clipped an Artsy Kardz to the photo mask from AP Christmas Nostalgia and added my text. I created my own custom word art by combining the handwritten words rock and stars by erasing what I didnt want from each. Buttons, a twig, a layered overlay, dotted korner n edges, transfers, more warm glows, a multi media flutterby, and a word mix were added to complete the page.

Great title! I've scrapped some old photos of relatives at Mt. Rushmoreat that time Lincoln's head was incompleteyou've inspired me to scrap it anew!

Great layout! I love the effect of the warm glows on the 2010 photo! Thanks for sharing your process!

Love the play on words :) Cool idea to show both photographs and lovely use of colour as well as the gorgeous little cluster of elements!

We were just there a couple of years ago, a timeless shot. I love the light you created on the blended shot and that you have an old photo to compare!
