Kings Canyon and Sequoia NP

In May 2007 we visited Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park. Our second NP. It was so beautiful. We had thought that the Sequoia trees would be big, but when we saw them in real life, we were in total awe. Wow, wow, wow. Just stunning and so impressive. It was an experience to remember forever. On one photo Robin is standing on the pavement. In the pavement you can see the size of the General German Tree. Unbelievable how giant that tree is!

We also saw the Parker Group, a group of Sequoia trees next to each other. Wonder if anyone can spot Robin watching the trees. Then maybe you can imagine how amazing this all was.

When we drove away from the park, the road was so beautiful, with really stunning views. The road was very steep and winding, I was videotaping all the beauty of nature and we were talking and rambling about what we saw and how impressed we were. We drove slowly. I decided to put away my videocamera and when I looked up again I suddenly saw a bear jumping from the bushes on the road right before our car, only a few meters ahead!!! He walked down the road in another set of bushes. Wow!! How cool was that and also a bit scary. What a shame that I just put away my camera. This was quite an adventurous day.

Process notes:

I opened a new spread at 24 x 12 inch at 300 dpi. I opened travel template no. 12 and dragged all layers onto the spread. I like to color the layers so I can see which layers are from what template. (Right click on the selected layers and select a color). I did the same for with template 13.

I added three papers from APP Wilderness. I used a layer mask and gradient on each of the pages so they blended into each other. I clipped my photos to the photo masks. The big photos I blended at vivid light.

I added a wordstrip, buttons, did some recoloring of the splatters and stains. I even journaled a bit. Luckily the day was so adventurous, so I had a lot to tell.

The wordart was duplicated, I selected "great" and deleted the rest of the wordart. Then I did make a sticker background with shadow on it. You can use a stroke to do this, but I like to use it in the way I told in my tutorial http://annaaspnes.typepad.com/anna/2015/03/tutorial-extraction-and-blending.html
If I want to change the sticker I can easily make changes, or delete the sticker, make it bigger or smaller, recolor it. I am not sure if you can do that when you add a stroke.

Thanks for looking!
