i modified the photo (there is a tutorial for doing this on Anna's blog under the tutorials for masking ... the photo technique is covered along with a masking technique not used with this photo) and centered it on the page. i added the squares using the marquee tool. i chose colors popular in the sixties to fill the squares. there are drop shadows on three of the squares. the block at the top was also done wit the marquee tool and then filled using the paint bucket. i added the splatters to break up the space a bit. after adding the title, it was done.
