I started with a plain background , the photo was really washed out so duplicated it several times and tried different blending modes to make it a bit brighter, then put a frame over it. I used several transfers left some bits out , moved other bits around . Added some chevron paper to stains, added some strokes and stitching and finished with a few elements. On the whole I fiddled with this layout so much that I cannot exactly say what or why.
