I'm lucky have this early sample of my father's handwriting when he was 7 years old and a photo dating around the same time. Perfect handwriting, he received an A on the paper (the teacher even wrote it in red pencil).

The Process
I began with the selection of a neutral solid paper from AP Document. The handwritten paper was very yellowed from age so I changed it to black and white, increased the contrast a bit and clipped it to a Camera FotoBlendz mask. Using an inverted layer mask (black) on the photo, I began revealing some of the image with a soft brush. Then I layered a frame over the image. I duplicated the image and changed the horizontal direction using the free transform tool, changing the blending mode to color burn. I added a layer mask to the frame and hid the part of the frame that covered the face. Next I layered in several transfers from AP Document and some strokes colored from Different Strokes 10. MultiMedia Arrows, arrow brushes, elements, word art and stitches were added to complete the page.
