My 5x10 pan is a good size. A tube might
work better than a standard loaf pan.
Put mix, milk, butter & egg in food processor.
Spin until you have thick cake batter.
Add all of the zest from 1 navel orange
and 1 + lb. of pitted dates. Spin until the
dates are chopped. Add 1 + cup pecans
and vanilla to taste (I forgot this) and
spin just until nuts are chopped.

I don't use recipes much anymore and have actually come to terms with box mixes. (I doctor recipes mercilessly to the point a friend calls it major surgery.) I made this for Jane and she wanted the recipe. I taped paper to the box and (too quickly) scrawled it out, then had the presence of mind to scan it before delivering the "recipe box." I'm glad I did, because I wouldn't remember this otherwise.
