Leaving Courgne, we headed up Northwest through higher and higher elevations. We were driving between mountains and the sky kept getting more and more overcast as the clouds drifted in. We felt the temperature drop and the drizzly rain looked increasingly like snow. There was more and more snow on the ground and we realized that getting all the way to the border might not be possible. As we drove we found a big patch of snow and felt that this might be as far as we should go. A storm was definitely coming in and we certainly didnt want to be driving a new to us car in that kind of weather. But the whole point of this Italy trip was to see, feel and touch snow. At least I could make some snowballs!
