Journaling:
The drive before daylight was tense, first because of black ice, and then because highway spray repeatedly covered the headlights with dirt. In Moab, Comfort Suites was brand spanking new and our room rate was a third of what it would be in high season. After resting for a while we visited Arches National Park for the golden hour.
