Process: This layout began with a photo of some leaves from our Sunset Maple. I roughly extracted the top portion of the photo but used an inverted mask to reveal the lower portion on a different layer, changed the blend mode to multiply at 50%. If you arent sure how to use inverted masks, see AnnaBlendz No. 4 Inverted Masking AnnaBlendz No. 4 Inverted Masking for instructions. The leaf background for the leaves was created with brush7 from Painted Leaves 2. I stamped the painted leaves brushes in red so that Id have red on the splatters that are part of the brush, rotated and masked one copy. From ArtPlay Palette Together, I added transfer7, brush 6, art stroke 1, as well as stains and splatters from Artsy Transfers Glance. Above the top photo copy, I placed the twig and beaded threadz6 psd file. I used a mask on both elements to make it look like they were intertwined. On the right, I used another transfer from ArtPlay Palette Together, set on multiply blend mode at 85%. I used a layer mask to brush out parts of the transfer. Below the transfer is another copy of a brush from Painted Leaves No. 2. I reduced the size and rotated it. I attached a copy of my photo and moved it around until I got the look I wanted. I applied a drop shadow, created a layer for the shadow, attached a layer mask and brushed away parts of the shadow below my journaling. I placed the psd copy of threadz1, deleted the beads, substituting a bead from threadz2. I added journaling because I want my family to know the story behind this photo. Finally, I added the title, choosing a font close to what appears on the the postcard transfer.
