Blood Swept Lands & Fields of Red

The amazing art installation currently visible at the Tower of London. It is made up of 888,246 ceramic hand-made, individually shaped poppies. Each poppy represents a member of the armed services from Britain and the colonies who died during World War I. They were put in place by a large number of volunteers. Literally millions of people have been to see them. The creator of the installation took his inspiration from words found in the diary of one of the soldiers where he spoke of "Blood swept lands and fields of red". We visited in early September and it was already most impressive. We have ordered one of the poppies!

I used a base template (adapted) by Anna Aspnes' AutumnTemplateAlbum1_Page20 and paper, elements and word art from Jen Maddocks Design Poppies kit. The background photo is borrowed from the Guardian newspaper (uk).
This is fantastic, you've blended it all together so beautifully and the story behind it all is so strong.
