Journaling: For 58 years, my trips to Williamsburg, Virginia, have been perfect vacations. Retreating to the 18th century is a delicious escape. I can talk to Patrick Henry about current events, sit in colonial gardens, walk historic streets, and sip peanut soup in colonial taverns. I love visiting colonial kitchens, although I dislike cooking. I can watch the spring lambs, eat warm Shrewsbury Cakes, and stroll candle-lit streets of an evening. Reluctantly, I return to my own time.
