Journaling:
We took the drive to the general store in Glade Park before starting the hike to Devil's Kitchen. By that time it was mid-morning and getting pretty warm. We passed through fields of cactus in bloom and hiked most but not all of the trail. It was just too hot by late morning. The flowers were a nice reward for hiking in the heat as much as we did.

This is a redux of the first page I posted in the gallery, back in June. https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=312371&title=cactus-fields&cat=all There was something about it that bothered me, but I wasn't sure what it was. It was new for me to work with circles. The colors seemed too bright. Now I know that I was trying way too hard to get those visual triangles, and sometimes they just don't work for me. It bothered me every time I looked through my book.
