The Process
I chose a neutral background paper that had a watercolor texture from AP Ocean Cove. For the photo I began with an over saturation of the reds and yellows, added an inverted (black) layer mask and using a soft chalk brush, began coloring back in the photo. I duplicated the photo and used the artistic underpainting tool found in the filter menu to add a bit of texture to the photo. Again with an inverted layer mask, I painted back in portions of the photo and changed the blending mode to hard light. I place a transfer from AP Joyful behind the photo, increased the red saturation and changed the blending mode to hard light. The dock in the photo lost some detail so I added Ruled Lines (rotated at an angle and erased what wasn't needed). A frame, script tease, elements, multimedia leaves, glows and word art were added to finish the page.
