I am a sucker for real textured paper. I liked this BG so much, I used it in two LO's, for aA Ladder Days 1 and 2.
The poem is "The Butterfly" by Louise Glck.
Look, a butterfly. Did you make a wish?
You don't wish on butterflies.
You do so. Did you make one?
Yes.
It doesn't count.
Process Notes: I rotated the BG so that it would have more of a landscape feel to it. Because of the way the BG was originally photographed, the shadows were in the wrong location for the effect I wanted, so I applied a corrective gradient adjustment layer as well as a little history brush work to lighten areas that were too dark and darken areas that were too light. I added the butterflies and female figure and gave everything drop shadows. I separated the drop shadows from the butterflies and warped the butterflies. Finally I added a text transfer and brushwork (inverted the black brush strokes and added drop shadows).
