Two wonderful films ... two favorites of mine


Jean de Florette, together with the second part Manon des sources is a true epic about life in a small village in Provence. The diptych is generally seen as Claude Berri's great masterpiece, and was rewarded with several awards. The two films are adaptations of two books of the famous French writer Marcel Pagnol, a diptych titled L'eau des collines.
