The Process: I began with Annas Artsy Layered Template No. 101. I extended the frames just a bit (without making them look distorted) because the photos I planned on using were better suited to that size. I attached the 3 photos in the frames to their clipping masks, and then attached the larger photo above to a paint layer in the template. I then turned off all the remaining layers, and began adding different Artsy papers from AP Salty Living, until I found the one I liked. I began turning back on the various layers of the template deciding one layer at a time if I would use it to add color, texture, or if I would even use it. Many of the background layers on the template were used to darken up behind the framed photos to give the page more depth, some were used to edge the blended photo above. I then added the MultiMedia items along the bottom, along with the various other elements. I added the journaling and the WordART. I placed the WarmGlow, modifying its color a bit. I placed some additional WordART on top of the WarmGlow. I added a variety of spatters in both black and in white just below the photo layers, and then added an edge overlay, recoloring it a soft beige. The large, unframed photo had a very dull gray sky, so I added a cloud transfer from AP Summer Fun, placing it on blend mode Darken. I went back and checked that all the photos were as sunny and bright as they should be, and decided the photo to the bottom left was way too dark where the seals were resting under the wharf, so I duplicated this photo, brightened it up using both Image/Adjustment/Shadows and Highlights, and then curves. This brightened the bottom just right, but washed out the upper dock of the wharf. I then blended both photos so I got the best of each photo layer, allowing more of the detail around the seals to show through. I added the title, and date.
