The Process
This is a photo of my husband and his first trip away from home ... heading off to scout camp for a week.
I chose page A from FIDT #80 for my base and added a solid background paper from AP Forester. I hid the circle frame and replaced it with a scanned image of the scout badge. I hid the upper left mask and replaced it with the multi media notebook and layered a brush from Scout WordArt on it. I clipped several artsy kardz to a couple of masks to give texture to the page and to provide neutral space. I clipped my photo to a mask, duplicated the photo and clipped it to another mask, enlarging the photo to show the happy/excited/nervous smile. I clipped the scout memorabilia to other masks and layered in labeled words, brads, buttons, loops and an overlay to finish the page.

I also have his scout hat and would like to include it in an accompanying page, but haven't figured out how to do this yet. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Oh, this is fantastic! (my husband has to see this!)
As for the scout hat, maybe a textured paper over the hat set in the background? just an idea..

This is so awesome! Our family has a scouting heritage too. Did you scan all the scouting memorabilia or was that in a kit? Those stamps are so cool!

This is such a great memory page for your husband, I hope he has an office to frame and hang it! Great page!
Maybe you could scan the insignia portion of the hat and use it clipped to a page.

This is an amazing collection of photo and ephemera! Love the use of the book in the upper left! great little pokes of dark yellow on the page...super use of template to tell a story!
