Process: My process for this layout was rather messy so I thought Id give you just the highlights that might give you an idea to try. I used one of the multimedia documents, but clipped the blended paper from the art palette to the top layer of the psd copy so that I could use the space for my own journaling. I recolored the paint and splatters. I finally chose the violin brush rather than the butterfly because of the connection to my journaling.

I used solid paper 6, adding a levels adjustment at 75% on screen blend mode to lighten the paper. I duplicated the photo of my grandfather and changed the blend mode of the top copy to overlay in order to brighten it. For texture and to create depth behind and above my photo, I used paint 1 and 2, transfers 7 and 8, brush 6 and 7 as well as the paint overlay to blend with the photo. I changed the blend mode to multiply and changed the opacity depending on what I needed. Sometimes, I used a layer mask to mask out portions. Finally, I added artist edge 4, recolored it and changed the blend mode to multiply at about 7%.

On each side of the page I used the sheet music brush and paint to pull the eye out from the journaling. On the right I created a vertical copy of the violin. I used brush 3 to add color from the photo on each side. I placed the word art on the right and used a typewriter font for my grandfathers name. I added a color fill layer set at color burn blend mode to warm up the color of the brad. Finally, I added the urban stitches below my Grandfathers name and along the sides. Am I satisfied with this yet, no, lol!

Thanks for looking:)
A lovely heritage page. I love how you placed the wordArt at the edge of the page.
