Process:
I placed the photo and decided on the aspect ratio, then found a frame that would work and placed the background paper behind it. I placed the wordArt and changed the blend mode to Overlay and duplicated the layer, to burn the wordArt into the paper. I placed the transfer behind the photo and added the black and white stitching. Using a mask to color only the teal green block I added texture with an APP Reflections brush to look like quilt fabric. The Amish (like many of us) are very passionate about their quilts.
I placed the transfer on the left page behind the wordArt and scaled and positioned the word art. I wanted to burn the black part of the transfer into the paper but leave the circle alone. I duplicated the transfer and masked the circle in on one layer to leave it alone. On the second copy of the transfer I masked the circle out so the part I wanted to burn in showed. I set this layer to Vivid Light. I added the UrbanStitchez Sunshine and resized to fit inside the circle and the multimedia banner to finish the page.
The journaling is added using book publishing software, so is uniform throughout the pages. I develop the wording as I work with the photo, so that by the end of the process it's ready to add and I have reserved space for it.

Journaling:
We were standing in the field watching the corn harvesters when Joe called on the cellphone. He said the boys had flown from Texas to California. They were in the system. They were settled in their new home and they loved it, and he had slept on the couch. Remember how the Amish put phone booths out by the barn or across the road from the house and never in the house.
great day 3 page DK. Love your process, and your journaling is fabulous as well - I have never been in Amish country.

I really like your expression of motion in this page. The horses and wagon moving with dust rising and the banners lifted nicely off the page. I also enjoyed reading your process.

i like how the banners lift with the dust and i really like how your journaling develops as you create the page.

Great photo and it really stands out against the background. Love the journaling too, as I know fry little about the Amish..
