The poem is by the Chilean artist and poet Alexandra Domnguez.

I have seen light strike the wire where a bird is breathing
and I have seen a child speaking words in blue that name the song
in whose breath I draw a Persian bird, a bird petrified, a bird of St. John Perse.
I have seen birds migrating,
birds of ink emerging from tunnels and flying to the open page of the sky,
and there like their voices they dwell in the company of angels.
I have seen birds moved by the unreality of whiteness
entering the pages of winter which are home to Turners storms.
And in what Ive seen I have seen the genuine pity of the imaginary,
pages drawn with the naturalists left hand, red birds
descending from the councils fields of wheat, birds of charity
and birds of importance over the great silence of time passing.
