At Hahn's Peak Roadhouse we learned locals get to Farwell Mountain via 550 and FR413 at Columbine. Lucky we went that way, too. From the top of Farwell Mountain with our new lens, we could see our campsite 6.35 miles away. There were still snowfields on the way to Farwell Lake, and the road was flooded out. There were numerous bad mudholes. Via Seedhouse Road, we would have turned back at the worst mudhole, but so close to the end of our trip we went for it. Remember how I was so scared I froze in the road when the Jeep skidded sideways. Remember the vast burn areas.
