hawaii in december. just arrived yesterday. our first trip to oahu together. taking in the beautiful sights, the culture, the food. enjoying the warm, sunshiny weather, bathing suits and shorts at the beach. the smell of saltwater in the air, taste it at the tip of your tongue. it's cold, wet and raining at home. already wish that we didn't have to go back. hawaii feels like it could be our home. wishful thinking. driving around for a picture perfect sunset. it's on top of the list for me. we discover ko'olina. can't stop taking pictures. the sunset, breathtaking. with you by my side, even more breathtaking. you talk about us. i snap away. got to capture this sunset. you talk about us some more. trying to capture me. you get down on one knee, pull something out of your pocket. i forget about taking pictures. jewelry box in your hand, you open it and look at me. i look at you, the floodgates have opened. you ask, "will you marry me?" all i could say is, "yes!" undoubtedly. tears roll down my cheeks. this is what cloud nine feels like. got me walking on air. can't stop smiling. cheeks hurt. happiest day of my life. can't wait to marry you, my best friend. this feels so crazy! i'm floating away.
