The Process
A fun page to do. It turned out a bit more cartoonish than I wanted. It reminds me of the story by Eric Carle, Rooster's Off to See the World. I used the warp tool on a watercolor fotoblendz to shape the body and colored. Added some brush strokes to give more textured. I used watercolor feathers for the tail and wings, changing the size, color and blending modes. For the crown and wattle, I used watercolor flowers, cut in half. For the legs I used the watercolor flowers and urban stitches and a brush from different strokes 5.
This is so great! What I really like about the process is that you "see" things in completely different objects, such as seeing chicken leggs in watercolor flowers. I will have to start looking at things from a different perspective!
