Zelda. Save Me the Waltz

Zelda Fitzgerald Im fascinated by her life. I read Zelda by Nancy Milford, when I was in college many years ago,
and was drawn to her exciting, adventurous and eccentric lifestyle of the flapper girl and jazz era of the early 1920s.
The wild antics and tumultuous relationship between her and her famous writer husband, F. Scott Fitzgerald,
author of 'The Great Gatsby', was a media obsession at the time.
Moving to Paris in the late 1920s, they were surrounded by the great artistic minds
of the art and literary world, including Ernest Hemingway.

Zelda was also an artist in her own right, producing many paintings.
She was obsessed with ballet and hoped to some day become a prima ballerina.

Sadly, Zelda was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 1930.
While recovering in a mental hospital, she wrote her first and only novel, Save Me the Waltz.
What seemed liked a charmed and exciting life would end tragically.
In and out of institutions, she died in a hospital fire in 1948.

I recently read Z, A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowlera wonderful book.

Process:
Place and clip a black/white photo to a new Multi-Layer FotoBlendz 2. Set photo to Luminosity.
To get the pink color in the photo, place a colored paper under the photo layer and clip to FB.
Continue layering FB under the photo mask/layers and clipping brushes or transfers to the masks adjusting blending modes.
Add supporting brushes, elements and journaling.
