Torrey Pines State Beach

I am hoping to finish a few more pages for a girl at work so that I can have a book made. This is Cora and her Grand-Parents on Grand-Parents day. She was dragging a long strand of kelp behind her. I love seeing Coras GrandPa (Pops), with his arms way up in the air, with GrandMa reaching out to greet her.

The process: It is so fun playing around with Annas transfers and blend modes. The combination gives you endless possibilities. I began with a plain paper and began with a transfer that was not really a clipping mask, but I used it that way anyway. The original photo was tough to work with, but by layering the photo on the transfer, and playing around with opacities, I ended up with a better version of the original. I started with the bottom photo being on the Normal Blend Mode, the next photo was placed on the Multiply Blend Mode. I copied the photo two more times, but painted in only the details I wanted (mainly the figures). These two layers were put on Blend Modes Multiply and Overlay. They were softly painted in using a soft edged brush, slowly layering more of the image until I was satisfied. I then began dragging in a variety of transfers from ArtPlay Sea Life. I played around with blend modes for some of these transfers as well. I brought in the Sea Sprinkles, but tucked them under some transfers so that only portions were visible. I added the flipflops, the Sea Shell brush, and the Stained Edge Overlay, and finished up with the WarmGlow (with its opacity brought down and color manipulated), and the title and date, etc.

***thanks for looking***
